Recently I have been getting lots of posts from people wanting me to tell them how long going it’s going to take DIAC to process their GSM visa applciation, partulcarly the sub class 475. Unfortunately I don’t have a crystal ball that I can look into and predict how current DIAC current policies (given current economic climate & political stance on immigration) or DIAC’s internal structure policy is going to influence processing times). I wish I could! Iwould be a very popular migration agent indeed. Anyway, I think only time will tell how long it is going to take, cliched but true. For most of the people who have recently applied, if you consider an approximate processing time of say 9-12 months, there is no need to hit the panic button until you come to the latter stages of this timeline. If you lodged an application in February this year don’t start pestering your agent for a hit prediction as to when you will have a visa. I think it’s unfair on yourself and unfair on your poor agent.
I would like to invite any one out there who is waiting on a visa approval to post a comment when you do get your visa approval advising your visa sub class applied for, your date of lodgement, date you did your medicals and the date your visa was granted. I would invite anyothers awaiting a visa approval to do the same so that others in a similar situation may be able to get an idea of timing.

Thank you for reply.I am also the same visa applicant.Medical & pcc done by the request of CO & sent on 2nd May 2009.But till now no response from Co.Could you please advice me what shall i do on this regard for rapid processing ?You know we are on priority processing as visa class but why this is delay ?

I have applied SRS 475 on 0ct 2008. In Nov 2008 the health requirements was finalised. On Jan 2009 the case officer was allotted and the he demanded the salary proofs and experience. From that day i am waiting for visa. As on immi.gov.au the time period for SRS is 7 months and it much more. Please tell me how much time it’ll get more.
Its approximately 10 months.
When i check my Status it shows the application is under process.
Even two time i made a query to immigratin deptt. regarding my visa status and they replied me to wait.
How long i have to wait . Or is there any change in policies as new policies came in July 2009 and i applied visa in Oct 2008.

I had the identical situation.
My CO asked me for 4 yrs bank statement which shows my salaries went to the bank account and my provident fund’s statement.
I submitted all and then those converted to “MET”.
For last 1 month all are showing “met” but no response from the CO……i’m waiting……

all of my documents were “met” by 23/7. This delay might be coz of i m from a HR country. Or, diac has gone for some job/security check.

It is difficult to predict how long the processing time will take regardless of what country you are from. You will need to wait for an acknowledgement of your application as well as any further requests from DIAC by mail unless you have advised that you are contactable by email in your application.

I had the assessment by ACS (not in MODL and not in CSL.
I am sponsored by the Northern Territory.
I applied online in May.
I sent the medical in May (noone informed me to make it)
the case officer is allocated in July and informed me to send the PCC.
till now i have not heard from him and the the medical status is still received and not finalized.
also the documents status is still required and not met.

i think this is the best way to communicate with DIAC.

Me and my friends nominated occupation was Medical administrator. We didnt use any Agent. Actually i applied first by myself and then i helped him,showed him how to apply without using any agent. Fortunately he got the visa and i am still waiting.
U can emial DIAC but DIAC will not answer u since u have an agent. they will only say that “this email address(ur email address) is not Authorized”
but one thing u can do. there is a way for changing the option for receiving written communication. fill in that form and send it to DIAC. only then u can communicate to DIAC directly

My Co requested me to send our medical on 31/08 but I did Have Already done it on 29/08. all my documents except specific work experience and medical showing met… but specific work experience is not mandetory for subclass 475….

Have a good day.I am also waiting after medical test since 2nd May 2009 in your same visa class.This is now 4 months but no movement about my status.On the other hand some cases have finalised within 4 to 6 weeks after medical.So we cannot say real time frame.It depends upon many situation & upon the great CO.

All of docs are met, except specific work experience. I did a mistake while filling application form. I was meant to claim 5 points for specific work experience. But this is not compulsory. It is bonus points. I already have over 100 points. I applied on 7th of July 2009. Got application being processed further on 24th of August and CO requested form 1221 and form 80 on 25th. I uploaded the same day. Still waiting for further progress. No news. Checking every hour…. I have 475 visa, as Industrial Pharmacist….
Waiting and waiting………. I have seen on other forums… some people get visa approved after 2-3 days their docs met. Lets see…. What happen?

My work experience is showing met. I was not meant to claim 5 points for specific work experience, but I did mistake and applied for it, after submitting the application I found that I applied for specific work experience too. These 5 points are extra. I already have over 100 points. So I did not supplied any docs for claiming this. My all other docs are showing met. The CO also did not ask me to provide any doc for this specific work experience. Someone told me there is a form to inform DIAC about any mistake in application. I will use this form to inform DIAC about my mistake, If they ask me for any doc. Otherwise thats alright. Because I have met the basic requirements for the visa, that is work experience in last 12 months from last 24 months…. which is showing met. So no need to worry.
I am confused about your case. Have you claimed specific work experience ( which is 3 years from last 4 years)? It gives you 5 bonus points. or you are struck in basic work experience requirement, which is 1 year from last 2 years. Plz… clarify….

As per as I am concerned application being processed further does not mean you are assigned to a case officer.After getting allocated to a case officer the responsible officer will contact you via E-mail.I think you will hear from your CO very soon.

My status shows Everything MET except Specific Work Experience. CO asked me to the documents for work expereince I gave to them is not sufficient. So they asked the payslip,etc. But my concern is this is for the the work expereince POINTS(15).In application fom i filled out the specific experience point. that is why they asking the document. But I have already 140 points. If can I suggest the DIAC to exempt from the specific work experience point. Is that possible? what i need to do? My application was E-lodged as well on papers by my agent on Feb ‘ 09 , i recieved my Acknlowledgement on March 22 ‘ 09 , since then there is no news from DAIC on meds and PCC ,
When i started my Application for SIR (50 points Advertising specialist) SA SPONSORED , i was told by my agent that the application takes max 6-9 months to process, which is quite realistic reading some of the blogs , currently my occupation is not on the list , so does it matter if some one while applying finds his/her occupation on the MODL list , but later when the list is upgraded , the occupation is not on the list.

u r in danger…..provide what DIAC required from you (payslip/bank statement etc) one of my friends also faced this problem though he didnt claimed points for specific work experience. So it is not about specific work experience…ur case officer demanded it and u have to provide it

hiiii i lodaged my application on 12-06-2009 visa subclass 475 and the status of my application was cahanged on 14-07-2009 to being processed further and documents list changed to met except medical and work experince.but the 80 and 1221 forms are showed requsted.and the immigration gave 28 days to send them.and on 4-09-2009 my agent told me that he didnt recive a requisted letter from you to sent these forms.and 28 days passed.so whats the ststus of my application now.can we send these forms ? or they cancelled
